My Story

Born out of a lifelong connection to fashion, music and self-expression, Blu Rose is the creative vision of Lisa Scales.
After over two decades working across the world's leading fashion houses, runways and fronting several campaigns, she returned to her roots to create something more personal - something with soul.
"When I started Blu Rose, I was mostly making leather bags, but jewellery was always what I loved most. I'd spend all my spare time between modelling assignments designing pieces and selling them to friends and through a little shop in Primrose Hill.
Things would always sell out, but I never had the time to really focus on it properly due to my travel commitments with work. Now, finally being able to build my own label feels like coming home."
Every piece (apart from the vintage collection) is made entirely by Lisa, from the jewellery itself to the finishing touches. She also handcrafts all gift pouches and personally overseas every aspect of the brand, including the website, product photography, writing and marketing - ensuring a truly personal and authentic experience from start to finish.

Inspired by her daughters, whose names were the inspiration behind the brand name, Blu Rose is shaped by years immersed in high fashion and music culture. Lisa's own collection reflects a modern, contemporary aesthetic infused with a subtle rock and roll attitude. Her designs balance strength with delicacy - bold yet refined, effortless yet intentional, capturing a sense of understated beauty with an edge. Each piece is designed to be worn instinctively, layered or alone, becoming part of the wearers own story and expression, designed to feel like a unique find - not mass produced, but discovered.

Alongside her own designs, Lisa's love of all things vintage led to the creation of the Blu Rose Vintage Collection. While browsing one of her favourite vintage haunts, she came across an old leather suitcase full of jewellery being sold as a job-lot. Drawn to its history and mystery, she decided to bid.
"When I got home and looked through it properly, I was overwhelmed by the beauty within. I felt like I was seeing a part of someone's life through their jewellery, pieces spanning from the 1920s through to the 1970s".
It was in that moment that the vintage collection was born.

After studying the history and eras of many of the pieces, Lisa felt they deserved a new chapter. Some are left untouched - preserved in their original form, with almost all their character and story intact. Others are thoughtfully repurposed, reimagined with a more modern edge while still honouring their past.
Vintage elements have also found their way into Lisa's own designs, creating a natural bridge between old and new. The result is a collection that blends handcrafted contemporary jewellery with rare, timeworn finds, each piece chosen or created to feel like a discovery.

As well as fashion, music has also always been at the heart of the journey. From backstage moments to touring with musician friends and creative collaborations, those influences are woven into every design, raw, expressive and unapologetically unique. "Blu Rose isn't just jewellery - its about identity". Every piece is made to reflect the person wearing it: imperfect, original and entirely their own.

"I wanted it to be like finding a treasure in a vintage shop, a one off, something precious, just like the person buying it"

At its heart, Blu Rose is about individuality, creativity and meaning. Lisa is also proud to support and donate to Youngminds UK, helping to raise awareness and contribute to youth mental health - a cause close to her heart.
